Este domingo terminó una nueva edición del Tour de Francia que contó con la presencia del costarricense Andrey Amador.

El tico formó parte del equipo estadounidense EF Education-EasyPost y culminó en el puesto 110.

Amador quedó a 4 horas 54 minutos 07 segundos del danés Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma), quien se dejó el título por segundo año consecutivo.

Para el pedalista nacional fue su séptimo Tour de Francia. Cumplió de gran manera con su labor de peón y fue protagonista en fugas en tres etapas.

Durante la última etapa Andrey ingresó en el puesto 87 a 53 segundos del ganador, el belga Jordi Meeus ( Bora-Hansgrohe).

El mejor en la general de la escuadra EF Education-EasyPost fue el estadounidense Neilson Powless en la posición 66 a 3hrs 37min 30seg de Vingegaard.

Bajas en el Tour para EF Education-EasyPost

El colombiano Esteban Chaves y el británico James Callum Shaw tuvieron que abandonar la competencia en la etapa 14. Hay que recordar dicha escuadra había perdido en la primera etapa a su gran capo, el ecuatoriano Richard Carapaz.

EF Education-EasyPost quedó con 5 hombres en carrera: Amador, el italiano Alberto Bettiol, el danés Magnus Nielsen, el estadounidense Neilson Powless y el colombiano Rigoberto Urán.
